Professionals who fulfil the following criteria are invited to take part in the Swiss Skills Championships in Entrepreneurship, regardless of their specific sector/profession:

Participants are not older than 23 years of age at the time of the finals. The participants are currently undergoing or have already completed training that is subject to the Vocational Training Act: Federal Certificate of Competence (EFZ), Federal Vocational Certificate (EBA), Fachmittelschule (FMS; with the exception of courses that follow the EDK curriculum), Wirtschaftsmittelschule (WMS) and Berufsmaturität (BM). Students at universities of applied sciences are admitted provided they fulfil the above criteria (age and vocational training background).

No specialised knowledge is required to take part in the selection days. The programme is aimed at talented entrepreneurs who are interested in working on innovative ideas and their implementation in an entrepreneurial environment.

Participation in the selection days is possible as a team of two or three. Participation as an individual is not possible.

The problem is identical for all participants and is based on one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals formulated by the United Nations (UNSDGs). The participants must solve the problem presented within the timeframe set at the event with an innovative business concept (product or service) and present it to the jury.

The events last from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. After a short briefing by the event team, during which the competition mode and administrative matters are presented, the professionals must solve a problem presented on the day. On the respective selection day, one or more teams will qualify for the final of the Swiss Professional Entrepreneurship Championship. The finalist teams receive a training weekend with coaches and action to prepare for the final. The entire competition is free of charge for the participating teams in both the selection and the final competition.

The selection days take place in spring throughout Switzerland. The exact dates and registration details are published on this portal, see under Registration.
